Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)

Purpose

The South Indian Bank Ltd. is grateful to the society for the support and encouragement in the bank's growth and development. The Bank believes that no organization can make sustainable development without the patronage from the society. The Bank is committed in the integration of social and environmental concerns in its business operations and also in the interactions with its stakeholders. The Bank shall continue to have among its objectives, the promotion and growth of the national economy and shall continue to be mindful of its social and moral responsibilities to customers, shareholders, employees and society. Bank is committed to financing the economic and developmental activities of the nation with concern for human rights and environment.

CSR is a continuing commitment by business to behave ethically and contribute to economic development while improving the quality of life of the workforce and their families as well as of the local community and society at large.

Vision

The Bank’s CSR mission is to contribute to the social and economic development of the community. Through a series of interventions, the bank seeks to mainstream economically, physically and socially challenged groups and to draw them into the cycle of growth, development and empowerment. At the core of this, its commitment to reach out to marginalized communities through its Sustainable Livelihood Initiatives. The Bank’s strategy is to integrate its activities in community development, social responsibility and environmental responsibility and encourage each business unit or function to include these considerations into its operations whether directly or in participation or in association with or jointly with NGOs of repute, Trusts, Partnership, Corporate or any other such organization as the Bank deems fit.

South Indian Bank supports Corporation of the City of Panaji, Goa

As part of CSR initiative of the Bank, a JCB Backhoe Loader was handed over to Corporation of the City of Panaji, Goa for solid waste management. The key was handed over to Mr. Rohit Monserrate CCP Mayor by Mr. Prajin Varghese – DGM & Regional Head Mumbai, South Indian Bank, in the esteemed presence of Mr. Sanjeev Naik - Deputy Mayor, Mr. Vyankatesh Sawant - Municipal Engineer CCP, Mr. Paulo Rodrigues - CCP Accounts Officer, Mr. Aswin Ashok – Cluster Head Panaji Goa, South Indian Bank, Mr. Sreekanth C M – Regional Sales Manager-Mumbai, South Indian Bank, Ms. Samantha M Pereira – Branch Head Panaji Goa, South Indian Bank.

South Indian Bank supports Nature Study Centre, Kalady, Kerala

As part of the CSR initiative of the Bank, a Mini Veterinary Ambulance was handed over to Nature Study Centre, Kalady, Kerala. The vehicle was flagged off by Shri. A. K. Saseendran, Honorable Minister for Forests & Wildlife Protection of Kerala in the esteemed presence of Smt. Uma Thomas, MLA - Thrikkakkara and Adv. M. Anilkumar, Mayor - Kochi Municipal Corporation, Shri. Krishnakumar P., Joint General Manager - Govt. Business, South Indian Bank and Smt. Rani Zacharias, AGM & Regional Head – Irinjalakuda, South Indian Bank.

Handing over ceremony of Dialysis Unit to Daya Charitable Trust, Thrissur, Kerala by Mr. Anto George T (CGM – HR & Operations, South Indian Bank) in the presence of Mr. Madhu M (JGM & Regional Head – Thrissur, South Indian Bank) and other Bank officials.

South Indian Bank supports Voluntary Organization for People and for the Empowerment of Rural Areas by Youth (VETRY), Tiruppur, Tamil Nadu to plant Trees

Award of financial assistance to VETRY, Tiruppur, Tamil Nadu by Mr. Joyal John (DGM & Regional Head – Coimbatore, South Indian Bank) in the presence of Mr. Sivaraman (Project Director - Vanathukul Tiruppur), Mr. Srivatsan V.P (AGM & Branch Head – Tiruppur Branch, South Indian Bank), Mr. Lorence Antony G (Chief Manager & RSH - CBG Coimbatore, South Indian Bank), Ms. Geetha Kalyani P (Chief Manager & Cluster Head - Tiruppur Avinashi Road, South Indian Bank).

As part of the CSR initiative of the Bank, a Water Purifier was handed over to Janakeeya Samithi (Arogyam) IMA Blood Bank, Thrissur, Kerala by Mr. Krishnakumar Menon P.K. (CM & Cluster Head – Thrissur, South Indian Bank) in the presence of Mr. Lalu K G (Branch Manager – Cheroor, South Indian Bank).

South Indian Bank supports Janey Centre for Special Education, Eroor, Kochi, Kerala

As part of the CSR initiative of the Bank, a financial assistance was awarded to Mrs. Ciya George, Principal, Janey Centre for Special Education by Mr. Krishna Kumar (JGM & Regional Head – Ernakulam, South Indian Bank) in the presence of Rev. Fr. Basil (PRO - Janey Centre for Special Education) and Mrs. Shiny J Menacherry (Cluster Head – Ernakulam, South Indian Bank).

As part of the CSR initiative of the Bank, special laptops and computers were handed over to J.M.J English Medium School, Athani, Thrissur, Kerala by Mr. Anto George T (CGM – HR & Operations, South Indian Bank) in the presence of Sr. Josepheena (Manager – J.M.J School), Sr. Ani George (Principal – J.M.J School), Sr. Lavanya (Finance Manager – J.M.J School) and Rev. Fr. Paul Alvares.

As part of the CSR initiative of the Bank, 3 CNG Autos were handed over to M/s. Santhwanam by Mr. Anto George T (CGM – HR & Operations, South Indian Bank) in the presence of Mar Andrews Thazhath (Archbishop of Trichur, Kerala), Mar Jacob Thoomkuzhi (Archbishop Emeritus of Trichur, Kerala), Honorable Jharkhand Governor Mr. C.P Radhakrishnan, Adv. Thrissur Corporation Vadakkechira Bus Hub Renovation

The renovated Thrissur Corporation Vadakkechira Bus Hub was opened to the public by Honorable Chief Minister of Kerala, Sri. Pinarayi Vijayan on 9th September 2020, through video conference. The bus hub was constructed under the CSR Initiative of South Indian Bank for Thrissur Corporation.
